In addition to her responsibilities at Bassi Investments, Dr. Bassi is CEO and Managing Partner of McBassi & Company, Inc., an independent research-based consulting firm (www.mcbassi.com), and is a Research Fellow at both Accenture's Institute for Strategic Change and Saba Software. Prior to launching Bassi Investments and McBassi, Dr. Bassi served as Saba's director of research, where the major focus of her work was on the economics and measurement of learning. Dr. Bassi spent the early years of her career as a tenured professor of economics at Georgetown University, where she also served as a co-founder of the Graduate Public Policy Program. As a former university professor and a continuing contributor to the debate on human and intellectual capital, Dr. Bassi is an internationally recognized expert whose advice is sought by a wide variety of enterprises and government agencies. While at ASTD, she was responsible for their Benchmarking Forum, a group of seventy Global 500 organizations that worked together to improve the effectiveness of their investments in learning. Her expertise in developing metrics and measurement of human and intellectual capital led to her appointment as co-chair of the National Academy of Science's Board on Testing and Assessment; as chair of the human capital subcommittee of the Brookings Institution's taskforce on intangible assets; and as a regular participant in international meetings on human and intellectual capital sponsored by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in Paris.
