Bassi Investments, Inc. is a money management firm that invests
in companies that invest in their people. We develop recommended
portfolios of firms that make significant investments in employee learning.
What's unique about our strategy?
- First, our portfolio recommendations are based in large part
on a factor — training investment — that is strongly
related to future stock performance but that is not known to most
investors (since it is not included in companies' public reports).
We've had to work very hard to gather the necessary information
from selected companies.
- Second, we use our proprietary, research-derived Bassi Model™,
which combines training data with relevant financial variables
to identify appropriate portfolio recommendations and assign portfolio
weights designed to maximize expected return. In developing the
algorithms for the Bassi Model, we used a variety of statistical
and analytical techniques to test outcomes and ensure that they
could not be explained by a simple correlation or by the effects
of another observed variable.
- Third, the strategy capitalizes on a foundational principle
of wealth creation in the knowledge economy—that to prosper
in the long run, firms must make significant investments in human
capital, for human capital is now the primary value creator in
most companies.
We officially launched and began actively managing funds in early
December 2001, and to date are encouraged by how well the research
