C.S. (Stan) Sorrell
CEO

Mr. Sorrell has responsibility for all Bassi Investments operations. Previously, he served as President, Chief Executive Officer, and Vice Chairman of the Board of Calvert Group from 1987 to 1997. In this position, he was responsible for the overall management operations of Calvert Group, Ltd., a $5.4 billion investment management firm based in Bethesda, Maryland.

Currently, in addition to his responsibilities at Bassi Investments, he is also the co-founder, chairman, and CEO of Paragon Financial Holdings, an investment consortium that owns and operates an investment advisory firm, an investment consulting firm, and an institutional money management company. In 1997, Mr. Sorrell joined Potomac Asset Management Company, Inc. (PAMCO) as President and CEO. PAMCO is a registered investment advisor for individuals and institutions, with assets under management of $850 million. PAMCO is located in Bethesda, Maryland.

After a career of over 20 years with The Riggs National Bank of Washington, DC, in 1980 Mr. Sorrell joined Calvert Group as Vice President and Marketing Director, where he was responsible for developing marketing strategies and assisted in the design of new products. He was promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Calvert in 1981, where he was responsible for managing Marketing, Information Systems, Shareholder Operations, Portfolio Accounting, and Human Resources. He became Calvert’s President, Chief Executive Officer, and Vice Chairman of the Board in 1987. During 1985, Mr. Sorrell developed a business plan and won a bank charter from the Federal Home Loan Bank Board to organize and open Acacia Federal Savings Bank. He served as the bank’s first President and CEO.

Mr. Sorrell received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (with concentration in Accounting) from Southeastern University in Washington, DC. He also completed a three-year Executive Management Course at the University of Wisconsin, as well as a series of courses at Harvard University Business School.
